What is the MEV Client

The MEV Client is a specialized validator client designed to integrate with the MEV Zone ecosystem, enhancing block selection through profitability optimization. Unlike a standard validator client, which processes and finalizes blocks based solely on traditional transaction ordering and inclusion mechanisms, the MEV Client incorporates additional functionality to maximize rewards for validators and the network.

The MEV Client computes a candidate block in the conventional manner by processing mempool transactions and assembling them into a valid block. However, it further enhances this process by comparing the locally generated block with candidate blocks received from trusted Block Builders. The client evaluates these external blocks based on their overall profitability, which includes both transaction fees and MEV-related bids. It then finalizes the most profitable block for inclusion, ensuring that validators capture the highest possible AVAX burn and rewards.

A key feature of the MEV Client is its ability to selectively trust Block Builders. Validators can configure the client to accept blocks only from verified and reliable Block Builders, ensuring the integrity of the network and reducing the risk of malicious or suboptimal block proposals. This selective trust mechanism is critical for maintaining the security and efficiency of the MEV Zone while enabling validators to participate effectively in the MEV-driven block production process.
